MPA Group recently became a member of the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA), the world’s leading trade association for the motorsport and high-performance engineering sectors.
Who are the MIA?
Formed in April 1994, top personalities from British motorsport came together to launch their own trade association with the aim of promoting UK motorsport as an industry. Since then the association has grown exponentially to almost 350 members. Its members operate on an international scale and account for more than £5bn of motorsport businesses worldwide.
The association represents the specialist requirements of the rapidly developing motorsports industry, providing members with specialist services to help them grow and move into new markets.
The MIA are a forward-thinking association, recognising the need for technological development in industry and demonstrating great passion for keeping UK motorsport at the top of the global scene. Their “cleaner racing” initiative, for example, has been at the forefront of promoting cleaner, energy efficient technologies in motorsport since 2001.
The MIA have a packed calendar of events for its members all year round, including conferences and special interest seminars.
The association’s biggest event is National Motorsport Week, which they promote alongside the Motor Sports Association (MSA). This year’s event will run from the 30th June – 8th July 2018 and is a celebration of UK motor sport. The event looks to reach new audiences for the industry and generate more spectators, competitors, marshals, officials and jobs. It has established itself as a standout event for any motorsport enthusiast, offering factory visits, novice taster events and numerous other initiatives.
Why become a member?
MPA Group aspired to become a member of the association as we saw it as an opportunity to work towards our company goal of improving and promoting UK innovation. A goal we share with the MIA, whose affiliation with the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) demonstrates their wider focus on the UK.
At MPA we pride ourselves on the up to date sector knowledge of our analysts, helping us to ensure we maximise client R&D claims. As the voice of UK motor sport, the MIA was a natural fit for MPA to gain access to the very best industry knowledge, thus supporting our motorsport clients.
